• Players are expected to treat other players and staff with reasonable respect.
• Prohibited Behavior - The following is not permitted:

1. Harassment directed at another player or staff member.
2. Hate speech or discriminatory attacks.
3. Threats involving real-world violence or harm.
4. Doxing or sharing another person's private information without permission
5. Repeated personal attacks intended to intimidate or drive someone from the community.
6. Impersonating Ankh’s Legacy staff.
7. Impersonating another player for the purpose of scamming, harassment, or deception.

In-Game Conflict

• Trash talk, rivalry, PvP conflict, guild wars, roleplay, and competitive behavior are part of Ultima Online. However: **In-game conflict must remain in-game.**
• Do not turn character, guild, PvP, economic, or gameplay disputes into real-world harassment.

Any method that provides an unintended or unauthorized gameplay advantage may result in enforcement.

• Use cheats or hacks.
• Modify packets or network traffic to gain an advantage.
• manipulate the client or server in unintended ways.
• Exploit bugs or unintended mechanics.
• Duplicate items, currency, resources, or rewards.
• Abuse broken mechanics to generate unintended rewards or progression.
• Use unauthorized programs that perform gameplay actions prohibited by these rules.
• Attempt to bypass AFK checks, staff checks, account restrictions, or other enforcement systems.

Bug & Exploit Reporting If you discover a potentially exploitable bug: **STOP → REPORT → WAIT** Do not repeatedly test the exploit. Do not demonstrate it to other players. Do not distribute instructions explaining how to reproduce it. Do not profit from it. Report the issue privately to staff. Knowingly benefiting from an exploit may be treated the same as performing the exploit yourself. Staff may remove items, currency, progression, or other benefits generated through an exploit.

Automation becomes prohibited when your character performs restricted gameplay activities while you are unavailable to respond.

• Players must remain available to respond while participating in activities that require active attendance.
• Unattended animal taming is prohibited. (If your character is actively taming creatures, you must be present and capable of responding to a staff check.)
• Unattended automated resource gathering is prohibited where the character is automatically locating, harvesting, or collecting resources without active player participation.
• This includes automated gathering of resources such as

1. Ore
2. Lumber
3. Leather/Hides
4. Reagents
5. Fishing Resources
6. Other Farmable Materials

• AFK resource gathering, combat is monitored and enforced.
• If you cannot respond to a staff check, you may be removed from the area or penalized.

Staff AFK Checks: Staff may perform an AFK check when unattended gameplay is suspected. Players must respond within the reasonable timeframe provided by the staff member or automated check. Failure to respond may result in: - Removal from the area - Termination of the automated activity - Confiscation of improperly obtained resources - Warning - Jail - Temporary suspension - Additional penalties for repeated violations **Being logged into Discord does not constitute responding to an in-game AFK check.**

Ankh’s Legacy recognizes that Ultima Online includes competition, murder, theft, conflict, and risk.

**Felucca is a PvP environment.**

Entering Felucca means accepting the normal risks associated with PvP gameplay.

Being:

1. Attacked
2. Killed
3. Looted Where game mechanics permit it
4. Ambushed
5. Hunted
6. Challenged by another guild
7. Repeatedly encountered during legitimate PVP activity

does **not automatically constitute harassment or griefing**.

What Crosses the Line

PvP becomes an enforcement issue when gameplay mechanics are being used primarily to harass a specific person rather than participate in legitimate gameplay. Examples include:

1. Following a player across unrelated areas solely to prevent them from playing for an extended period.
2. Coordinating repeated harassment after being directed by staff to stop.
3. Using exploits or prohibited mechanics during PvP.
4. Circumventing event protections or safe-zone mechanics.
5. Combining gameplay attacks with prohibited real-world threats or personal harassment.

Names must remain appropriate for the Ankh’s Legacy community.

Names may not:

1. Contain hate speech or slurs.
2. Contain explicit sexual content.
3. Impersonate staff.
4. Intentionally impersonate another established player for deceptive purposes.
5. Advertise another shard or service.
6. Be designed specifically to evade chat or naming filters.
7. Staff may require inappropriate names to be changed.

Unique Character Names Character names are intended to be unique. Players may not intentionally create characters designed to imitate or confuse another player's established identity.

A healthy player economy depends on legitimate trade.

Scamming Intentional trade scams are prohibited.

Examples include:

1. Intentionally switching an agreed item immediately before accepting a trade.
2. Falsely representing an item's identity or properties.
3. Impersonating another player to obtain items.
4. Accepting payment while knowingly having no intention of completing an agreed transaction.

Players are still responsible for reviewing the trade window before accepting a transaction.

Real-World Trading [RWT] : Real-World Trading is strictly prohibited unless conducted through an officially authorized Ankh’s Legacy system.** Players may not buy, sell, or exchange the following for real-world money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, external goods, or external services:

1. Gold/Items
2. Character Accounts
3. Pets
4. Houses/Resources
5. Services/Progression
6. Other Ankh's Legacy Assets

Donations Official donations must only be conducted through authorized Ankh’s Legacy systems. **All donations are final and non-refundable except where otherwise required by applicable law or payment-provider requirements.** Chargebacks or payment disputes involving received rewards may result in the associated rewards being removed while the matter is investigated.

Players may not intentionally use characters, pets, houses, ships, objects, or other mechanics to permanently obstruct important public areas. This includes intentionally blocking:

1. Public entrances
2. Required quest locations
3. Event access points
4. Important travel locations
5. Staff-designated public pathways

Normal house placement and temporary player congestion are not automatically violations. Staff may move obstructing characters, objects, pets, or other entities when necessary to restore reasonable public access.

Official events may have additional rules announced before or during the event. Players must follow event-specific instructions. Players may not:

1. Exploit event mechanics.
2. Circumvent participation restrictions.
3. Intentionally disrupt and event.
4. Use alternate accounts to obtain rewards when the vent limits rewards per player or household.
5. Manipulate event results through prohibited collusion.
6. Claim rewards they did not legitimately earn.

If an event rule conflicts with a normal shard rule, the event-specific rule controls for that event unless staff state otherwise.

Staff members are responsible for enforcing shard rules and maintaining the game environment. Players must:

1. Follow reasonable staff instructions.
2. Respond truthfully during investigations.
3. Avoid intentionally interfering with staff investigations
4. Use the appropriate support or appeal system when disputing a decision.
5. TREAT ALL STAFF WITH RESPECT!

Staff Pages

Do not repeatedly submit pages, tickets, Discord messages, or direct messages regarding the same issue. Submitting additional requests does not move your request ahead of other players.

Staff Abuse

Harassment, threats, or personal attacks against staff are prohibited. Disagreeing with a staff decision is not prohibited. Players may respectfully request clarification or appeal a decision.​

Official Ankh’s Legacy communication channels must remain reasonably appropriate for the community. Prohibited Global/public channels may not be used for:

1. Hate speech.
2. Real-world threats.
3. Personal harassment.
4. Excessive spam / Repeated flooding.
5. Advertising competing Ultima Online shards.
6. Advertising prohibited RWT.
7. Posting malicious or unsafe links.
8. Sharing another person's private information.

Politics & Inflammatory Topics Real-world political discussions and other highly inflammatory real-world topics should be kept out of public/global game channels.

Staff may end conversations that are creating significant disruption.

Trade advertisements should be placed in the appropriate trade channels when available.

Repeatedly flooding global chat with advertisements may be treated as spam.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Account Sharing Account sharing is discouraged and performed entirely at your own risk. If you voluntarily provide another person access to your account, Ankh’s Legacy is not responsible for losses caused by that person.

Ankh’s Legacy will not replace accounts, characters, currency, or items lost because a player voluntarily shared their account credentials.

Rule violations committed through your account may result in enforcement against that account regardless of who was controlling it.

Never share your password with anyone claiming to be Ankh’s Legacy staff. Staff will never need your password.

👥 12. MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS

Players may maintain multiple accounts unless a specific system or event states otherwise. However, alternate accounts may not be used to:

1. Evade a punishment
2. Circumvent an account restriction
3. Obtain multiple rewards where rewards are limited per player or household.
4. Maanipulated event participation.
5. Circumvent PvP/Event restrictions.
6. Abuse systems intended to have account or player limits.

Creating or using another account to evade disciplinary action may result in enforcement against all associated accounts.

No rulebook can list every possible exploit, abuse method, or intentionally harmful behavior.

The absence of a specific exploit or abuse method from this document does not automatically make it permitted.

However, staff enforcement should be based on identifiable conduct and available evidence—not simply on whether a staff member dislikes a player's playstyle.

When a previously undefined behavior creates uncertainty, staff may:

1. Stop the behavior while it is reviewed.
2. Determine whether it violates an existing rule or unintended mechanic.
3. Publish clarification when appropriate.
4. Apply enforcement based on the severity and circumstances of the conduct.

Players who are genuinely uncertain whether a mechanic or activity is permitted should ask staff before repeatedly using it for significant advantage.

📢 14. RULE CHANGES

Ankh’s Legacy may update these rules as the shard evolves, exploits are discovered, or new systems are introduced. Major rule changes should be announced through official Ankh’s Legacy communication channels. Players are responsible for following the current published rules.

These rules are not intended to remove those elements.

They exist to establish the boundary between legitimate gameplay and abuse.

New adventurer or seasoned veteran, every player should have the opportunity to build their legacy in a world where accomplishments are earned and the rules apply consistently.
